Overview of A.N Deringer PAPS:

Deringer Overview

Deringer is a top US Customs broker with over 100 years of experience. They focus on process management and making the most of opportunities. Deringer has a national filing license and 30 customer service centers across the US. This means they can clear packages directly with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). More than 40% of their operations staff are licensed Customs agents, Certified Customs Specialists or other qualified professionals in the field. Deringer participates in CBP and partner government agency (PGA) pilot programs and has a good reputation with those who regulate trade.

Types of Surety Bonds

Deringer has two types of surety bonds: Single Entry Bonds (SEB) cover a single import transaction at a single port of entry and Continuous Bonds cover all packages from importers at all US ports of entry for a year. The amount of the bond varies based on the type of goods being shipped but is usually equal to the value entered into Customs for those goods.

Compliance Programs

They help importers create compliance import programs that work and last. They do this by doing full risk assessments, in-depth reviews of current processes and Customs clearance activity, customized training, internal control training and workshops, reasonable care regulations, risks and responsibilities, Customs 101–HTS classification, valuation, country of origin and more.

Social Compliance and Forced Labor

The company also advises on social compliance and forced labor such as what importers need to do, how to check for it and how to stop it. The Deringer Trade Advisory Group helps people get certified by doing CTPAT applications, program evaluations, security reviews and creation and reporting of security questionnaires.

Classification & Valuation Analysis

Another part of Deringer’s services is Classification & Valuation Analysis to make sure US Customs trade is done correctly to avoid delays and lower fines.

Consulting Group Process

It’s up to the importer to give Customs the correct information on value and tax classifications. Deringer Consulting Group has a 7 step process to determine how to classify things. ADD/CVD review, prior disclosures, protests/520d, responses to CBP requests, bound decisions, duty drawback, reconciliation, duty savings opportunities, NAFTA and USMCA eligibility verification, Section 301/232 duty refunds, trade training and FDA agency programs are some of the things that fall under this category.

Advisory Group Services

The advisory group helps with determining when AD/CV duties apply, writing protests/520d, responding to CBP requests for information/action, making final decisions, duty drawback, reconciliation, duty savings possibilities and making sure the company is eligible for USMCA. They also help set up USMCA programs that can pass CBP review, verify HTS numbers and certificates of origin and provide personalized training on how to get USMCA benefits.
