About ASKY Airlines:

The main office of ASKY Airlines is in Lomé, Togo, and the airport that serves as its hub is Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport. The airline serves passengers in West and Central Africa. The airline has been around since November 2007 and has been making money since 2017. It was named “Best Airline in West Africa 2023” at the seventh Accraweizo event, which took place in Ada, Ghana. When Air Afrique went bankrupt in 2002, it made it harder to fly across borders in Africa. This was when the airline was founded.

In September 2005, Gervais Koffi G. Djondo started the company SPCARE to promote a small airline. In Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, the General Meeting to set up the new international private airline took place. For the first five years of business, Ethiopian Airlines will be the airline’s technical and strategic partner. Between Kinshasa and Brazzaville, ASKY Airlines had the world’s shortest foreign flight route in 2020.

Ethiopian Airlines (40%), Ecobank, BIDC, BOAD, Sakhumnotho Group Holding, and other private companies from West and Central Africa are the principal owners of the airline. The Togolese government has a small stake of 14.39%. ASKY Airlines has been making money since 2017. In 2021 and 2022, they made more than $12 million and $30 million, respectively.

ASKY Airlines focuses on building a solid intra-African network that supports regional development, tourism, economic growth, and regional unity. The airline goes to 28 cities in 26 African countries right now, and that number will rise to 30 cities in 26 African countries by 2023. The city of Addis Ababa is the hub of Ethiopian Airlines’ network. From there, flights go to the Middle East, the Far East, and East Africa.

ASKY joined IATA in 2021. It is with great pleasure that the airline announces that Mr. Gervais Koffi Gbondjide DJONDO, the company’s founder and chairman of the board of directors, received a top award at the 2024 BOMA Africa Awards in Accra, Ghana.
