About Cai Mep International Terminal:
Cai Mep International Terminal (CMIT) is an important terminal 50 kilometres southeast of Ho Chi Minh City, which is Vietnam’s economic hub. It provides direct routes to and from Asia, Europe, and the Americas. It is one of only a few ports in Southeast Asia and the only one in Vietnam that can handle ships up to 214,121 DWT (about 20,000 TEU). It is 15 nautical miles from the main sailing lines to CMIT, which makes it safe and easy for the biggest ships to stop. It lowers slot costs by letting the biggest container ships through, has high berth productivity to cut down on port stays, gives you the most navigational options to cut down on port stays even more and has competitive trans-shipment costs to and from other Vietnamese and regional sources and destinations.
CMIT has the space, tools, and knowledge to offer Maintenance & Repair services for all types of empty containers. These services include full inspection, grading, cleaning, and repair. It is also possible to check and fix full dry and reefer containers if asked. There is a large network of barges that connect intermodal hubs to ICDs in Ho Chi Minh City, the country’s capital, Dong Nai Port, and Binh Duong Port, which are Southern Vietnam’s main production areas. The trips to these hubs take between 6 and 8 hours by boat. It takes about 48 hours to get from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to another place, making this a cheap way to send a lot of packages.
Highway 51 and the new Long Thanh Dau Giay expressway are great ways to get from CMIT to important industry areas. Because of improvements to the area’s transportation system, moving to Ho Chi Minh City now only takes about 90 minutes. CMIT works with area trucking companies that are competitive, on time, and safe.
The operating system for the CMIT terminal is directly linked to the e-customs system so that the export, import, transit, and transhipment of goods going in and out of the terminal can be managed and watchedThis electronic system reduces time and errors, making CMIT a competitive international shipping hub. CMIT allows you pay online, receive bills electronically, and track containers and ships 24/7.
CMIT uses an appointment system to expedite customs, fumigation, veterinarian, and phytosanitary inspections. CMIT handles customs, transporting, and lifting full and empty containers between ports to simplify things.
