H.J. “Red” Capps and his wife Ovella Norwood Capps started Capps Sand & Stone and Capps Lime & Fertilizer in 1945. One of their first long term customers was the Nello Teer Company. In 1950 they bought Carolina Tank Lines’ rights to add oil to their business. The businesses combined in the late 1970s to form Carolina Tank Lines, Inc. A family run business that values respect, loyalty, hard work and teamwork. The employees put in a lot of effort, energy and enthusiasm on the job.
