About King Onward Logistics Corp:
The value of Australia’s agriculture sector is set for a 14% decline for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
The agriculture industry is expected to shrink to $79 billion in 2023-24 from last year’s record-high value of $92 billion, the ABARES report says. The sharp decline was, however, blamed by Executive Director Jared Greenville on drier conditions since the three consecutive La Niña weather conditions.
Exports are also expected to decline in a similar direction, similarly to a tune of 17% to $65 Billion due to possible fluctuations in weather conditions, which are seasonally expected. There is an expectation that crop production will be reduced by 34% from a year earlier. In contrast, the domestic prices for most crops are expected to decline owing to increased supply.
As much as crop production has its prospects, horticulture is set for expansion, with production expected to increase by $1. TO $5 billion to a record $18 billion for the booming nut production and rising domestic consumption of fruits and vegetables. Similarly, there are expectations for the wine industry to rise after a challenging year in 2022 – 2023 due to a reduction in disease risk with a drier climate.
The livestock sector is a slightly mixed picture, which, in general, overall declines to $35bn from $37bn, thanks to a slight rise in beef, sheep, and milk production but a decline in their prices and lower restocking demand. However, the wool market is expected to have a good year, the ema and for the market to increase as China started importing wool for the first time this year.
