About KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Cargo:
KLM The Netherlands’ leading airline is Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM), which is part of the Air France-KLM group. KLM is the world’s oldest airline, having been around since 1919. It has 35,488 workers and a fleet of 110 planes. As of 2021, KLM has regular flights for both people and goods to 145 destinations. KLM’s main airport is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Since it merged with Air France in September 2014, KLM has been the biggest airline in the Netherlands.
KLM started building its hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol by getting business from airlines that are part of its network.Hey. NWA flew 16 million people in 1990, and KLM bought a 20% stake in the company in 1989. KLM started the Flying Dutchman service for people who fly a lot in 1991. In 2003, Air France and KLM chose to join together. This meant that Air France and KLM would join together to form Air France-KLM.
In September 2010, KLM took over Martinair’s passenger business, moving all of the staff and routes to KLM. By November 2011, Martinair was down to just the cargo and repair divisions. Marjan Rintel took over as KLM’s CEO in July 2022 after Pieter Elbers stepped down. The two-tier approach is used to organize the company’s management and supervision. A separate and independent Supervisory Board oversees the Board of Managing Directors.
KLM’s main office is in Amstelveen, close to Schiphol Airport. Working with ALM Antillean Airlines in the Caribbean, the company has helped Dutch-controlled islands get air service. KLM Asia is a fully-owned subsidiary based in Taiwan. It was set up in 1995 so that KLM could keep flying to Taipei without affecting its mainline traffic rights for destinations in the People’s Republic of China.
KLM and its partners fly to 163 places in 70 countries across five continents. Their central hub is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Because of codeshare deals, KLM can now fly to 826 different locations.
