About Qatar Airways Cargo:

Qatar Airways is the country’s leading airline. Its central hub is at Hamad Foreign Airport, and it flies to over 170 foreign destinations on five continents. Since October 2013, the airline has been a part of the Oneworld partnership. Its slogan is “Going Places Together.” When the Government of Qatar created Qatar Airways Group on November 22, 1993, it included Qatar Airways, Doha International Airport, private business air services, ground handling, and in-flight catering companies. For the fiscal year ending in March 2004, the group made its first profit ever.

When Boeing delivered the airline’s first Dreamliner in November 2012, it made Qatar Airways the seventh airline in the world to own one. The plane went to work on the route between Doha and Dubai on November 20. A trip between Doha and Auckland on this airline was the longest regularly scheduled flight of any commercial airline as of February 5, 2017. Qatar Airways bought 49% of AQA Holding in September 2017, making it the new owner of Meridiana.

The Australian Government stopped Qatar Airways’ plan to grow in July 2023. The airline wanted to add more flights to Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, and Melbourne and more than double those flights. Qantas supported government action. This Australian airline competes with Qatar and says its flights would “distort the market.” It is not in Australia’s best interest for Qatar Airways to add more routes.

In October 2023, Qatar Airways and Starlink stated that they would be working together to offer fast internet on board. Qatar Airways revealed Sama 2.0 in March 2024, which was the first flight of the world’s best AI cabin crew.

As of November 2023, Badr Mohammed Al-Meer took over as CEO of Qatar Airways from Akbar Al Baker, who stepped down on November 5, 2023. In July 2013, the Government bought out a former foreign minister and other shareholders for 50% of Qatar Airways. Since then, the Government has had complete power over the airline. More than 48,000 people worked for the Qatar Airways Group in March 2023, with 32,000 working directly for the company.

There are many parts of Qatar Airways, such as Doha International Airport, Qatar Airways Holidays, United Media Int, Qatar Duty-Free, Qatar Aviation Services, Qatar Distribution Company, and Qatar Executive.

Qatar Airways’s freight arm is the third-largest foreign cargo carrier in the world. In June 2009, cargo trips to Cairo International Airport started running in addition to the passenger services already in place.

Qatar Executive is a branch of Qatar Airways that operates business jets. The fuselage is white in its uniform, and the Oryx is painted in the airline’s traditional burgundy and gray colors. Since then, Qatar Airways has slowly bought more shares. As of February 2020, it owned 25.1% of the shares.

In December 2019, Qatar Airways bought a 60% share in Bugesera International Airport, Rwanda’s brand-new international airport, which cost $1.3 billion. In February 2020, Qatar Airways bought a 49% stake in RwandAir, Rwanda’s main airline, to help with its growth and hub strategy with both money and technical help. It also has a 9.99% stake in Cathay Pacific and an investment of 10% in the LATAM Airlines Group.
