SCT Logistics Customer Service
About SCT Logistics:
SCT Logistics is an interstate transport company in Australia that runs services on both train and road and has facilities all over the country. Originally called Specialized Container Transport, SCT has been in business since the mid-1990s, when National Rail stopped using chilled vans, louvered vans, and boxcars on its trains. In answer, SCT bought extra covered wagons and made hook-and-pull deals with V/Line Freight and Australian National to pull trains.
SCT started running a weekly service from Melbourne to Perth in July 1995. The first stops were at Dynon in Melbourne, Keswick in Adelaide, and Kewdale in Perth. Freight Australia was hired in October 2000 to haul goods from Melbourne to Perth using G-class locomotives and fuel trucks with special features. The company also owned and ran the trains that moved wagons between its terminals.
SCT rented three NR class locomotives from Pacific National until its fleet of SCT locomotives arrived in February 2007. It also bought nine G-class locomotives. In February 2010, SCT started running services between Melbourne and Brisbane. Its wagons were part of services run by Aurizon. IMX Resources set up Specialised Bulk Rail as a company in September 2010 to move iron ore from the Cairn Hill Mine in Coober Pedy to Outer Harbor.
SCT opened a station in Bromelton in January 2017 and started running its services between Melbourne and Brisbane. The Australian Financial Review’s “Top 500 Private Companies in Australia” ranked SCT 169th in 2020. The company made AUD390 million in sales that year, 4% more than the previous year. As of 2020, about 2,000 people worked for SCT.
BlueScope hired SCT Logistics to run bulk trains of steel goods from Melbourne to Adelaide and Perth in January 2022. You could rent locomotives C501 and X31 from the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre in February 2023 to use on Dooen Freight in western Victoria. From 2024 to 2025, SCT will rent six RailFirst CF class trains for at least one year.
The Australian Federal Government paid $35.2 million (AUD) for SCT to open a new freight hub in Queensland in August 2017. The hub’s name is Bromelton Intermodal Estate. Within the 10 ha (25 acres) port, there are shops, loading docks, and 6 km (3.7 mi) of track.
You can trust SCT Logistics to give you good value, new ideas, and service. It has to be creative, look for different points of view, and find its way through uncertainty because of its goal. The company has made a name for itself in contract operations by using new technology, creative thinking outside the box, and cutting edge design.
