According to the Schenker, DB Schenker, the world’s largest logistics company, is to join forces with Australia’s ICT Research Centre of Excellence, NICTA, in order to increase productivity as a part of the Future Logistics Living Lab program. At the recent CeBIT Australia conference, the two organizations have signed a memorandum on several potential development projects related to improve efficiency of the software for supplying chain. Schenker Australia CEO Ron Koehler indicated that a lot of work is being done on the capacity planning and integration part of the project and said that there is a significant possibility of increasing work on optimization and cutting both costs and C02 emissions out of the system.
