About Unico Logistics:

As part of the strategic partnership of DB Schenker with NICTA the future highways of logistics will be developed jointly in the future.

According to the Schenker, DB Schenker, the world’s largest logistics company, is to join forces with Australia’s ICT Research Centre of Excellence, NICTA, in order to increase productivity as a part of the Future Logistics Living Lab program. This work can be viewed as a state-of-the-art research center where representatives of the transportation and logistics industry, as well as scientists, can come together and efficiently deal with the issues that exist in the industry.

At the recent CeBIT Australia conference, the two organizations have signed a memorandum on several potential development projects related to improve efficiency of the software for supplying chain. Schenker Australia CEO Ron Koehler indicated that a lot of work is being done on the capacity planning and integration part of the project and said that there is a significant possibility of increasing work on optimization and cutting both costs and C02 emissions out of the system.

It is aimed at updating the company’s IT aspect in an attempt to meet the rising challenges in this logistics sector. Logistics expertise provided by NICTA will be critical in evaluating and improving the logistics operations that sustain the immense supply chain of DB Schenker, especially in the following sectors: consumer electronics and retail.

At the same time, a number of unknowns threaten the future survival of the Principle Pallet Network.

The Principle Pallet Network is at a critical stage with the company’s meeting with investors to shape its future. The managing director of Motability Operations, Adam Leonard, was forced to respond to issues pertaining to the network, claiming that it had problems from the time it was started. Although readers are told that the business is administered, Leonard wants to cheer everybody and deny that no employees have been laid off.
